SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) — A man accused of driving drunk and hitting a utility pole that caused injuries to an 8-year-old boy has reached a plea agreement in Sheboygan County.

Sixty-five-year-old John Krizenesky, of Elkhart Lake, pleaded guilty to felony injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle during a court appearance Tuesday. The boy who was injured was catching grasshoppers in his grandparents’ front yard last July when Krizenesky hit the pole and caused its power lines to sag and shock the child.

Malachi Blanke, of Manitowoc, was taken by helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Wauwatosa.

Sheboygan Press Media says prosecutors will recommend 30 days in jail followed by two years of probation. Sentencing is scheduled April 15.
