Who’s Doing What: Lawyers on the rise; Sweet earns fellowship

wdw-030714Gov. Scott Walker and the Wisconsin State Public Defender’s Office presented the Wisconsin Cares About Kids Award to the Milwaukee-based Kids Matter Inc. The group provides victims services for abused and neglected children. It was founded in 2001 and serves 68 counties.

• The American College of Bankruptcy announced that James Sweet of Kerkman Dunn Sweet DeMarb, Madison, will be inducted as a fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy on March 14 in Washington, D.C. He earned his law degree in 1978 from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

ON THE RISE

Bruce Arnold and Frank Gumina were named co-leaders of Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek SC‘s health care law team.

Arnold is a shareholder in the firm’s Milwaukee office, where he is a member of the firm’s board of directors. He earned his law degree from The University of Michigan Law School.

Gumina is a shareholder in the firm’s Milwaukee office. For more than 20 years he has worked with health care clients to develop effective and efficient strategies to meet business objectives. He earned his law degree from Marquette University Law School.

Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek SC announced that Michael Dahm was named leader of the firm’s emerging and entrepreneurial companies team.

Dahm is an attorney in the Milwaukee office of WHD where he also is a member of the corporate transactions, securities and technology law teams. He earned his law degree from Harvard Law School.

Jeff Goldman was named chair of the DeWitt Ross & Stevens SC’s Trusts and Estates Practice Group. Goldman, who joined DeWitt in 2006, practices in the firm’s trust and estates, and litigation practice groups, focusing on estate planning, probate, trust administration and trust, estate and fiduciary litigation. He earned his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Eric Meier and Timothy Posnanski of Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek SC were named co-leaders of the firm’s litigation practice group.

Meier is a shareholder in the firm’s Milwaukee office where he also co-leads the construction services team. He earned his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Posnanski is a shareholder in the firm’s Milwaukee office where he also co-leads the real estate and eminent domain litigation team. He earned his law degree from the Washington University in St. Louis School of Law.

YOU’RE HIRED

Troy Giles joined Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren SC’s environmental and real estate practices. He earned his law degree from the University of Wyoming Law School.

John Loringer joined the Milwaukee office of Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker LLP, Madison. Loringer focuses his practice on product liability and toxic tort litigation, including the defense of manufacturers, suppliers and contractors in asbestos-related personal injury and wrongful death actions. He earned his law degree in 2002 from Santa Clara University School of Law.

Craig Stevenson joined Murphy Desmond SC as an associate attorney in the firm’s business bankruptcy/creditors’ rights, litigation, and business practice groups in the Madison office.

Stevenson represents debtors and creditors in all chapters of bankruptcy, foreclosures, receiverships, workouts, and state and federal litigation. He earned his law degree in 2006 from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
