MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin appeals court says a doctor accused of inappropriately touching female patients must pay for discipline proceedings.
The state Medical Examining Board in 2009 suspended Dr. Frank Salvi for 90 days, required him to undergo a mental evaluation and ordered him to pay $46,922 in costs.
Salvi argued he shouldn’t have to pay because affidavits an administrative law judge and the prosecuting attorney submitted listing rates and time spent on the case carried no weight because they were made upon “information and belief” rather than “personal knowledge.”
The 4th District Court of Appeals court rejected the argument Thursday, saying it puts form over substance and both the judge and attorney had personal knowledge of time spent on the case.
Salvi’s attorney, Lester Pines, didn’t immediately return a message.
