RACINE, Wis. (AP) — A Racine County judge has banned a Waterford man from using the Internet after he posted fraudulent ads on Craigslist soliciting sex for his neighbor.

Jason Willis, 31, was also sentenced to 2-½ years of probation. Willis’ neighbor didn’t know anything about the ads until at least three people showed up at her doorstep, including a man wearing only a coat, prosecutors said.

During sentencing Tuesday, Judge Allan “Pat” Torhorst gave Willis 30 days to terminate his Internet service.

“You may not, in any way, use the Internet,” the judge said.

If Willis violates terms of his probation, he will serve 18 months in prison and 18 months of supervision, according to The Journal Times.

The woman told investigators she felt that Willis posted the sex-soliciting ads on Craigslist as retribution “for picking on” him for previously having spent time in jail.

Willis told police he was only trying to play a joke on his neighbor.

“I’ve been a judge long enough to know you don’t go to jail for no good reason,” Torhorst told Willis. “You don’t single out a neighbor. It’s unconscionable.”

Willis earlier pleaded guilty to misappropriating ID information to harm a person’s reputation.
