JUNEAU, Wis. (AP) — A prison inmate will spend another 5-½ years behind bars for spitting on two correctional officers.
Thirty-one-year-old Jesus Aponte Jr. was twice removed from a Dodge County courtroom Wednesday due to his outbursts. According to a criminal complaint, Aponte was taken to a medical station for treatment at the Wisconsin Correctional Institution and threatened to kill the nurse. He was sent back to his cell where he continued to make threats and spit on two of the guards.
The Beaver Dam Daily Citizen says Aponte was also given two years of extended supervision. He was originally serving a two-year sentence for failing to register as a sex offender in Kenosha County. He has previous convictions for child abuse, resisting an officer and battery.
