An attorney disbarred in Arizona for misappropriating hundreds of thousands of dollars of money from client trust funds lost his license to practice law in Wisconsin on Friday.

Yuri Nielsen, a 2005 Marquette University Law School graduate, was disbarred May 2 in Arizona. He was unable to account for $428,867.20 of client money withdrawn from several trust accounts, according to papers filed with Wisconsin’s Office of Lawyer Regulation complaint on Aug. 5.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court’s decision (PDF) to disbar Nielsen was reciprocal discipline for the Supreme Court of Arizona’s decision, according to an opinion released Friday. Nielsen, according to the opinion, did not contest the facts of the case or the discipline sought by the OLR.

The opinion states that all justices except Annette Ziegler participated.

Nielsen did not return a phone message left Friday.
