OCONTO, Wis. (AP) – A jury in Oconto County has convicted one of two men accused of killing a Green Bay man 15 years ago.

Fifty-three-year-old Peter Hanson was found guilty Tuesday of killing 19-year-old Chad McLean, whose body was found in the Pensaukee River a month after he disappeared in February 1998.

McLean was last seen riding with Hanson and Charles Mlados after several hours of drinking and visiting at the home of Hanson’s next-door neighbor. McLean and Mlados say they dropped McLean off at the Hi-Way restaurant that night so he could find a ride home to Green Bay. Prosecutors say McLean was killed after arguing with the men.

Press-Gazette Media says a trial for Mlados begins Feb. 4.
