MILWAUKEE (AP) — A jury has found a man not guilty of fatally shooting an unarmed man in Milwaukee, after he argued it was self defense.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports the jury deliberated more than two days before acquitting Todd Hadley last month of reckless homicide and reckless endangering safety. He was released after 11 months in jail.

The shooting happened Nov. 9, 2012, after the 26 year old rented out his basement for a party.

At one point there was a fight, and his lawyer, Thomas Flanagan, said Hadley was surrounded and fired shots in the air and ground because he felt threatened.

One man was hit in the leg. Flanagan said as the group kept advancing Stevie Jenkins suddenly appeared from the side, and Hadley killed him.

Hadley had a concealed carry permit.
