RACINE, Wis. (AP) – A Racine man is accused of making a bomb threat at his job because he wanted Halloween off but didn’t have any vacation time left.

A Journal Times of Racine report says 27-year-old Jacob W. Vanderhoef was charged this week with two counts of causing a bomb scare.

Prosecutors say he left two threatening notes at Poclain Hydraulics last week. According to the criminal complaint, he told investigators he was out of vacation time but he didn’t want to work on Halloween.

One note was found Oct. 29. It said a timed explosive was scheduled to go off during the week of Halloween. It also taunted authorities to “catch me if you can.”

His defense attorney, Mark D. Richards, declined to comment Friday.

Vanderhoef’s preliminary hearing is Nov. 20.
