Jessica Reginato grew up surrounded by litigators, but it wasn’t until her junior year in college that she decided she would go to law school, too.

Reginato is a fourth-generation alumna of Marquette University Law School, from which she graduated cum laude in 2006.

“(I) can remember hearing my dad practicing opening statements for trial in our basement on many occasions throughout my childhood,” she said. “Looking back now, I cannot imagine having gone into a different career field.”

Reginato joined von Briesen & Roper SC in January 2007 after completing the firm’s summer associate program in 2006. She is a member of the litigation and risk management practice group where she concentrates on products liability defense, toxic tort, commercial litigation, insurance coverage, subrogation and general litigation matters.

“The majority of my practice involves defending large industrial and commercial manufacturing companies nationally,” she said, “but I also work with individuals and small business owners here in Wisconsin.”

And even with several years of professional experience under her belt, Reginato remains reverent of previous generations.

“The most valuable lesson I have learned,” she said, “is to always take full advantage of the wisdom and advice of more experienced attorneys.”

It can be challenging at times to work from the road: an airport, a hotel or wherever my cases take me.

What can you spend hours doing that’s not law-related?

Anything that involves being in the water: swimming, boating, waterskiing or even just floating on a raft.

What is your favorite thing to do in Wisconsin?

I grew up in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Milwaukee and we now live downtown. So, having lived in the city my whole life I love all that it has to offer between its restaurants, parks, markets and festivals. But I also love spending time at my family’s cabin up north just as much. That’s the great thing about Wisconsin.
