MADISON, Wis. (AP) – An appeals judge has ordered some documents released in the secret investigation into illegal campaign activity by former aides and associates of Gov. Scott Walker.

Judge Patricia Curley ordered personal emails of convicted aide Kelly Rindfleisch to be filed with the appeals court within 15 days. The Journal Sentinel says other documents include the search warrant used for seizing records from Walker’s office when he was Milwaukee County executive.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice wanted the documents filed with the appeals court as it fights Rindfleisch’s argument that the warrants were overly broad.

Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm said the secret John Doe investigation ended on Feb. 20. The investigation began in May 2010, six months before Walker was elected governor, and hounded him throughout his first two years in office.
