Portions of the Milwaukee County Courthouse have reopened.
The courthouse was closed the week of July 8 after an electrical fire in the basement. Courts on the fifth, sixth and seventh floors and some on the fourth floor are open, according to a release. Jury trials and criminal, family and small claims cases have resumed.
Offices on the north end of the first floor and on the second and third floors remain closed.
The Ninth and 10th street entrances are closed. The Wells Street entrance is open, and the courthouse can be reached through the Criminal Justice Facility, which has a handicapped entrance, or the Safety Building.
