The Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors is expected to vote Wednesday on whether to push forward with its plan to fire Kimberly Walker, the county’s chief in-house attorney.
The board voted 13-5 to fire Walker without discussion at its June meeting. County Executive Chris Abele vetoed that resolution. In June, he denounced the board’s action and said he continued to believe Walker was well-suited for her position as corporation counsel.
Since the June vote, Walker has continued to work as corporation counsel and will continue to do so unless the board overrides Abele’s veto. Twelve votes are needed to override a veto.
The board will hold a special meeting at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Milwaukee Area Technical College Board Room, Room M210, to consider that veto and others from its June meeting.
