Many of us track legislation on various topics. We use resources such as the Wisconsin Legislature Notification Service and Govtrack.
I recently found a website maintained by Colorado State University that tracks energy legislation for all 50 states. The website, Advanced Energy Legislation Tracker, “collect[s] all advanced energy legislation into one database, assigning each bill to one of ten policy categories and providing a searchable, visual database complete with trend analysis and reporting.”
The interface is easy to use. The researcher can conduct a keyword search or select specific states and/or policy areas of interest.
The Maps and Graphs menu tab displays the number of energy bills introduced by state and policy area. There is also an online tutorial that provides additional insight on utilizing the service.
