DARLINGTON, Wis. (AP) — An 18-year-old man charged with helping his brother kill three of his young children in an Argyle house fire has pleaded guilty.

Jeremy Wand pleaded guilty Wednesday to three counts of first-degree intentional homicide and one count each of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, felony murder and arson.

Green County Circuit Judge Thomas Vale asked Wand repeatedly whether he understood the consequences of his plea. The Wisconsin State Journal reports the judge ultimately accepted Wand’s plea.

Wand was accused of helping Armin Wand set the fire that killed Armin Wand’s three sons and the fetus of Armin Wand’s wife, Sharon, in September.

The plea deal includes no guarantee that prosecutors will not seek life in prison without chance for parole.

Jeremy Wand was scheduled to go on trial next month.
