HUDSON, Wis. (AP) – Hudson police are looking for a suspect after a car smashed into a corrections office and an incendiary device was thrown into the building.

It happened about 6:15 a.m. Monday, before the office would have opened for business.

Police say the car smashed into the front doors of the state’s Community Corrections offices, followed by an incendiary device being thrown into the foyer of the offices of probation and parole. The building was unoccupied at the time.

The sprinkler system quickly doused the flames. The fire damaged the foyer and some nearby rooms.

Police also discovered that several state vehicles parked nearby had their tires slashed.

The Star Tribune reports officials closed the offices for the day. The offices’ staff handles probation, parole and extended supervision cases.
