STILLWATER, Minn. (AP) — A federal judge has refused to halt work on the St. Croix bridge project to connect Minnesota and Wisconsin.
U.S. District Judge Richard Kyle refused Monday to grant an order sought by C.S. McCrossan Construction Inc. McCrossan is still pursuing a similar request before the Minnesota Court of Appeals.
The Star Tribune reports Kyle put McCrossan’s federal lawsuit on hold until the state court rules.
Maple Grove-based McCrossan filed dual lawsuits against the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The lawsuit stems from MnDOT’s awarding of a $58.1 million bid for the contract to complete approach work on the bridge, while rejecting McCrossan’s low bid of $52.3 million.
MnDOT maintains McCrossan did not follow bid process instructions.
The project includes building a new four-lane highway across the St. Croix River.
