The Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty on Monday filed a lawsuit against the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors over alleged violations of the state’s open meetings law.

WILL filed the suit on behalf of former board member Joe Rice, according to a news release. The lawsuit alleges the board’s Finance, Personnel and Audit Committee violated the open meetings law March 14 by authorizing union negotiations without adequate public notice. The lawsuit also alleges supervisors violated the law April 10 when a quorum of the board attended an Assembly hearing in Madison.
