AWARDS & HONORS

Kathryn Keppel of Gimbel, Reilly, Guerin & Brown LLP, Milwaukee, received recognition for “Outstanding Community Service” from Centro Legal, an organization that provides affordable legal services to low-income individuals in Milwaukee. Keppel, who is a partner at GRGB, recently represented a Centro Legal client who was a victim of domestic abuse in a complicated appellate matter. She devoted more than 50 hours of pro bono time in responding to motions and briefs filed by the client’s incarcerated former spouse.

ON THE RISE

Bud Bobber and Kevin Hyde were appointed vice chairman and chairman, respectively, of the labor and employment practice at Foley & Lardner LLP, Milwaukee.

Bobber, the new vice chairman, will assist Hyde in the administration and implementation of labor and employment practice initiatives. Bobber practices in the Milwaukee office and has a national practice focusing on wage and hour cases, trade secrets/noncompetition litigation, employee benefits and employment discrimination matters.

Hyde, the new chairman, previously served as vice chairman of the department, as well as managing partner of the Jacksonville office. He also is a member of the automotive and food and beverage industry teams.

Kenneth Hallett was named chairman of Quarles & Brady LLP’s national corporate services practice group. He succeeded Michael Grebe, another partner in the firm’s Milwaukee office, who has led the group since 2009. Hallett has been a member of the firm’s Milwaukee office since 1980 and focuses his practice in the area of securities law, with a related practice in mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and other corporate law matters. He earned his law degree from Harvard Law School.

Joseph Masterson was named chairman of Quarles & Brady LLP’s Milwaukee corporate services practice group. He has been at the firm’s Milwaukee office since 1978 and practices in the areas of corporate governance, public securities offerings and compliance, internal investigations, general corporate and limited liability company matters. He earned his law degree from Harvard Law School.

Naikang Tsao was appointed litigation chairman of Foley & Lardner LLP’s Madison office. He is a partner in both the business litigation and dispute resolution and intellectual property litigation practices. He joined Foley in 2000.

YOU’RE HIRED

Anthony Steffek joined Milwaukee-based Davis & Kuelthau SC as a litigation associate in its Green Bay office. Steffek has experience in the areas of federal litigation, contract management and employment-related matters. He earned his law degree from Marquette University Law School in 2006.

Thomas Vance joined the corporate practice group at Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek SC, Milwaukee. Vance advises clients on federal, state, and local tax matters. He earned his law degree from Brooklyn Law School.
