Walker appoints Marathon County judge

Assistant District Attorney LaMont Jacobson will be the new Branch 3 judge for Marathon County, Gov. Scott Walker’s office announced today.

Since January 1989, Jacobson has worked as assistant district attorney for Marathon County. He previously served as assistant district attorney in Dunn County (1986-1988), district attorney for Vernon County (1985-1986), ad family court commissioner for Vernon County (1984-1986).

He began his career with a private practice in civil, criminal, and family law in northern Wisconsin. Throughout his years of practice, Jacobson has tried approximately 500 cases to verdict, including approximately 100 jury trials.

Jacobson is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (1976) and University of Minnesota School of Law (1979). He has lived in Wausau for the past twenty years with his wife Anne and their three children.
