SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) – A former volunteer firefighter has been sentenced to six months in jail for allegedly setting fire to a Sheboygan area farm out of boredom in 2011.
Sean Bradley pleaded no contest in October to arson. The fire leveled two buildings, killed two dogs and destroyed thousands of dollars in equipment at Walvoord’s Berry Farm in the town of Holland.
The Sheboygan Press reports the 27-year-old was sentenced Dec. 18 to six months in jail and four years probation.
He was also ordered to pay $9,600 in restitution as part of the criminal case, and owes an additional $65,000 in restitution as part of a civil judgment.
He was part of the Cedar Grove Fire Department at the time of the August 2011 fire and was among those who responded.
