Who’s Doing What: Foley joins LGBT chapter; White earns service award

Foley & Lardner LLP, Milwaukee, joined The Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce as its first Gold Founding Member.

Foley & Lardner LLP was founded in 1842 and has 2,181 employees worldwide and 726 in Wisconsin. The Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce is an organization of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and LGBT-allied businesses, professionals and individuals in Wisconsin.

Katherine Goyert joined Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, Milwaukee as an associate in the Employment Relations Practice Group.

While attending law school, Goyert was a 2011 spring semester associate in Michael Best’s Chicago office. Goyert earned her law degree in 2012 from Chicago-Kent College of Law.

Tom Olejniczak, managing partner at Liebmann, Conway, Olejniczak & Jerry SC, Green Bay, was recognized by the Wisconsin Business Development for his efforts to assist small business and community programs with the Darwin Nelson Community Service Award. Olejniczak has practiced business law for more than 35 years.

Chris Rogers of Habush Habush & Rottier SC was elected to the board for the Wisconsin Association for Justice. Rogers practices in the firm’s Madison office. He earned his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1995.

Mary Turke, a partner at Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, was selected to join the board of directors for Summit Credit Union. Turke is the office managing partner for Michael Best’s Madison office and advises clients on business issues, including dispute resolution and creditor’s rights. She also is a board member of the Madison Children’s Museum and most recently assisted Make-A-Wish Foundation of Wisconsin in establishing its Madison office. She earned her law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1996.

Changxia “Walter” Sun joined the Quarles & Brady LLP’s Milwaukee office as an associate in the Intellectual Property Group. Sun prepares and prosecutes both U.S. and international patent applications. He earned his law degree from Northwestern University School of Law.

Jill Wegner joined the litigation team at Liebmann, Conway, Olejniczak & Jerry SC, Green Bay. She earned her law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2012.

William White, a partner in the Transactional Practice Group at Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, was awarded the Porchlight Inc. “Distinguished Service Award” for his work related to the Capital Campaign Project at Nakoosa Trail. The award is given to those who have shown exceptional volunteer assistance and commitment to the organization.

White’s practice includes counsel on land use issues to towns, villages, cities and counties and the development of land and resource growth plans. He earned his law degree from the Antioch School of Law in 1976.

Shanna Yonke joined Ruder Ware LLSC. She will be based in the Wausau office as a member of the Trusts & Estates Practice Group. Yonke advises individuals and business owners in all aspects of personal estate and business planning. She earned her law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2012.
