LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) – Two men have been sentenced to 35 years each for killing a young La Crosse woman.
Kong Vue and his uncle, Pao Vue, were found to be equally responsible for the shooting death of 20-year-old Sara Hougom. Family and friends of Hougom packed a courtroom in La Crosse Monday for the Vues’ sentencing.
WKBT-TV reports the victim’s childhood friend, Paige Roth-Smith, said she still gets angry and upset that the men took the life of a beautiful and innocent person.
Kong Vue admitted that he went into Hougom’s apartment to steal money and shot in her direction when he saw someone move. Pao Choua Vue was driving the getaway car.
