MILWAUKEE (AP) – A judge has sentenced a woman to six years in prison for a Milwaukee elevator robbery that authorities say scared her victim to death.

Seventy-year-old George Yensh died of a heart attack last October as 47-year-old Stephanie Rent accosted him.

Rent had followed Yensh into the elevator of his apartment building. She told police she snatched his wallet and began frisking him. Yensh apparently fell to the floor from a heart attack.

Surveillance video showed Rent fleeing the building. She was arrested a few days later and admitted robbing Yensh but said she didn’t know he had died.

Rent pleaded guilty in February to robbery with use of force. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports the judge Monday ordered Rent to spend another five years on extended supervision after prison.
