STEVENS POINT, Wis. (AP) – A Plainfield woman convicted of leading police on a drunken high-speed chase down the wrong lane of a highway has been sentenced to 4 years, six months in prison.
Shirley Hogrefe pleaded no contest in April to three felonies, including first-degree reckless endangerment.
According to the sentence handed down Tuesday, Hogrefe will also lose her license for three years. When she gets it back she’ll have to install an interlock device on her vehicle for three more years.
Prosecutors say Hogrefe drove the wrong way down Interstate 39 in March at speeds around 100 mph. Several vehicles, including two squad cars, had to swerve to avoid her.
A WSAW-TV report says she stopped after colliding with several vehicles.
A message left with her defense attorney was not immediately returned.
