MILWAUKEE (AP) – Prosecutors have charged a 13-year-old girl in a hit-and-run crash that killed a bicyclist in Milwaukee earlier this month.
The girl faces four felony counts in the death of 57-year-old Ronald Forbes, including first-degree reckless homicide.
Charges allege the girl was drag racing a stolen car against teens in a second stolen vehicle when she struck Forbes as he bicycled to work.
The girl told police she did not see Forbes.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (http://bit.ly/SnwtK5) reports the girl is charged as an adult, but could seek a waiver of her case to children’s court.
The girl was ordered to undergo a psychological examination after her attorney raised the question of her competency. Her next court date is Sept. 7 in children’s court.
