Two new smartphone apps for attorneys released

Two new apps for attorneys have been released, one assisting with bankruptcy claims and the other a reference app for any lawyer.

Rust Omni, the bankruptcy administrative services division of Rust Consulting Inc., has launched a free app, the Rust Omni bankruptcy app, offering clients, creditors and other interested parties access to case information, court documents, proofs of claim, contact information, claim registers, claim forms and case calendars, among other things.

The app includes access to real-time data, with documents and information added dynamically, and the ability to add contacts and calendar items easily. The app is available for download for iPhone via iTunes, with versions for Android and Windows expected in the coming weeks.

Legal dictionary app

Paragon Software Group, a software developer for mobile devices and desktop computers, has released the Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary of Law as an app for Android and iOS devices. The Dictionary is a comprehensive guide to legal language for anyone from homeowners to legal professionals. It includes:

  • More than 10,000 legal words and phrases;
  • Updated entries regarding current events, from the financial meltdown to the growth of the Internet;
  • Example phrases and quotations; and
  • Information on cases, laws, and agencies

Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary of Law is available for $24.95 at Google Play and the App Store.
