FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) — A driver accused of crashing into a group of motorcyclists, killing two Michigan men, has pleaded not guilty to all charges in Wisconsin.
Twenty-five-year-old Clinton Lovelace appeared in Fond du Lac County court Friday. He’s facing 12 felonies stemming from the crash on Highway 151 last May.
Fifty-nine-year-old Daniel Winsemius, of Twin Lakes, Mich., was killed at the scene. Forty-three-year-old Douglas Yonkers, of Muskegon, Mich., died about a week later at the hospital. Seven of the 10 other motorcyclists were hurt in the crash.
The motorcyclists are members of the “Muskegon Motorcycle Gang.” They were headed back to Michigan at the time of the crash.
WLUK-TV reports Lovelace’s attorney requested a competency evaluation, saying the defendant suffers from amnesia because of head injuries suffered in the crash. The judge granted the request.
