BEV BUTULA: WisconsinEye celebrates 5 years of serving the state

WisconsinEye will celebrate its fifth anniversary May 16. If you are not familiar with WisconsinEye, the website and cable TV channel brings “C-Span-style nonpartisan coverage of state government and politics to Wisconsin.”

WisconsinEye includes live coverage of the Legislature, committee meetings and oral arguments of the Supreme Court. It maintains 70 cameras in all three branches of government and also provides coverage of news conferences and relevant events at the Capitol.

In addition to its live programming, WisconsinEye also produces “roundtable discussions and interview programs about the many aspects of Wisconsin public life, including Wisconsin books and authors.”

Its “Made in Wisconsin”series is great! Some of places featured include Sassy Cow Creamery, Milwaukee Cupcake, Carmex, and Trek.

One of my favorite features of WisconsinEye is its advanced search. The search functionality allows the user to query by date, individual’s name, organization or legislative proposal.
