Douglas Dehler joined the litigation group at O’Neil, Cannon, Hollman, DeJong & Laing SC, Milwaukee. Dehler’s litigation practice covers business, class action, whistleblower and ERISA fiduciary cases, as well as a wide range of insurance matters. He has practiced law in the Milwaukee community for more than 20 years since graduating cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1991.

Bridget Erwin joined Hermes Law Ltd., Green Bay. Erwin’s practice areas include estate planning and probate, elder law and guardianship, Medicaid planning, powers of attorney, trusts, transactional matters and business law. She earned her law degree from William Mitchell College of Law in 2007.

Bryant Ferguson and R. Joseph Stennis joined the Milwaukee office of Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren SC.
Ferguson is an associate in the firm’s employee benefits practice. Prior to joining Reinhart, Ferguson worked as a tax consultant. He is a member of the Milwaukee Bar Association, the Arkansas Bar Association and the State Bar of Wisconsin. Ferguson earned his law degree, magna cum laude, from Marquette University Law School.

Stennis is an associate in Reinhart’s labor and employment practice. He represents public and private sector employers in all aspects of labor and employment law. Stennis received his law degree from the University of Louisville, Louis D. Brandeis School of Law.

Alexis Lundgren joined the Milwaukee office of Michael Best & Friedrich LLP. She is an associate in the Litigation Practice Group. Lundgren earned her law degree in 2011 from the University of Minnesota Law School.

Awards & honors

Quarles & Brady LLP received the 2012 Inspire by Example Business Award from the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee. The firm was nominated by the Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corp. for its Quarles Cares program and its pro bono legal representation, which provided nearly 10,000 hours of service in 2011.

The Eastern District of Wisconsin Bar Association plans to present the following awards at its 10th Annual Meeting and Presentation on April 26:

  • Nathan A. Fishbach Founder’s Award to Charles Clevert Jr., U.S. District Court judge for the Eastern District of Wisconsin
  • Judge Robert W. Warren Public Service Award to the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association
  • Judge Dale E. Ihlenfeldt Bankruptcy Award to Bruce Lanser, of Lanser Law Office, Waukesha
  • Judge John W. Reynolds Community Building Award to Patricia Gorence and Nancy Joseph, U.S. District Court magistrate judges for the Eastern District of Wisconsin

On  the  move

Murn & Martin SC is now part of Axley Brynelson LLP.

The move added four new attorneys – Don Murn, Michelle Martin, Whitney Vallier and Frank Murn – as well as a Waukesha office previously occupied by Murn & Martin, to Madison-based Axley’s current operations. The combined firm will operate under Axley Brynelson LLP. John Mitby serves as managing partner.

Giving back

Michael Hupy, of Hupy & Abraham SC, Milwaukee, donated $100,000 to the Milwaukee Justice Center. The Milwaukee Justice Center is a collaborative project between the Milwaukee Bar Association, Milwaukee County and Marquette University Law School. Hupy is a founding member of the center, which is at the Milwaukee County Courthouse.
