Walker appoints Morrison to Marinette court

Gov. Scott Walker on Thursday appointed private attorney James Morrison, of Morrison Law Firm SC, to the Marinette County Circuit Court.

He replaces Judge Tim Duket, who retired Jan. 3. Morrison is a former chair of the Wisconsin Board of Bar Examiners and began practicing law in 1976. His practice included insurance defense, business law and estate planning.

He is a member of the Marinette Kiwanis, a two-term board member of the Marinette-Menominee Community Foundation and on the Marinette United Way Board. Morrison also taught at the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Marinette, worked as a faculty member for the University of Wisconsin-Marinette and is a member of the UW-Marinette Foundation.
