Who’s Doing What: New hires at von Briesen; new partner at Axley

Thomas Burmeister, Nicholas Castronovo, Ryan Gehrke and Eileen Kelley joined von Briesen & Roper SC, Milwaukee.

Burmeister is a member of the Banking, Bankruptcy, Business Restructuring and Real Estate Practice Group at the firm’s Milwaukee office. He earned his law degree, cum laude, from Marquette University Law School in 2011.

Castronovo is a member of the Litigation and Risk Management Practice Group at the firm’s Milwaukee office. He earned his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2011.

Gehrke is a member of the Litigation and Risk Management Practice Group at the firm’s Milwaukee office. He earned his law degree from Marquette University Law School in 2011.

Kelley is a member of the Banking, Bankruptcy, Business Restructuring and Real Estate Practice Group at the firm’s Madison office. She earned her law degree, cum laude, Order of the Coif, from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2011.

Michele Perreault of DeWitt Ross & Stevens SC was appointed to the District 9 Committee of the Office of Lawyer Regulation by Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson. Perreault is a partner in the firm’s Madison office and serves as chair of its Family Law practice group. She received her law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Gesina Seiler has been named a partner at Axley Brynelson LLP, Madison. She represents municipalities in employment and civil rights matters, businesses and health care providers involved in litigation, and also practices in the criminal law arena. She earned her law degree, cum laude, from Marquette University Law School.

Nora Gierke and David Frank, both former litigation partners at Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren SC, formed a new litigation boutique in Wauwatosa. Gierke Frank LLC will focus on complex commercial litigation with an emphasis on products liability, franchise, real estate, construction and other commercial contract disputes.

Martin Tierney joined Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren SC as a shareholder in the firm’s Employee Benefits Practice Area. Tierney earned his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Robert Dallman and David Swanson joined the law firm of Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek SC, Milwaukee, in its Corporate Practice Group. Both attorneys have experience in federal and state tax issues and business planning.

Dallman brings more than 25 years of federal and state tax litigation experience with the Internal Revenue Service and selected state taxing authorities.

Swanson has represented clients before the IRS, Wisconsin Department of Revenue and Wisconsin Tax Appeals Commission. He served a six-year term on the Wisconsin Tax Appeals Commission.

Terry Klippel and Anthony Machi were recognized by the Wisconsin Chapter of the March of Dimes for their volunteer service to the organization.

Klippel, an attorney at Storm, Balgeman, Miller & Klippel SC, Wauwatosa, has volunteered for March of Dimes for more than 20 years and served on the board of directors for most of those years. He earned his law degree from Marquette University Law School in 1978.

Machi is a former municipal judge and the owner of USGUYS Racing. In February 2011, he celebrated his 30th year of volunteer service for March of Dimes. He earned his law degree from Marquette University Law School in 1971.
