Milwaukee County Sheriff’s deputies on Wednesday morning arrested a Milwaukee man who threatened to blow up the Milwaukee County courthouse.

Department spokesperson Fran McLaughlin said David Tranberg-Miller, 48, made the threat inside the courthouse shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday and police apprehended him at about 11:30 a.m. on Wisconsin Avenue near 12th Street.

He is being held at the County Correctional Facility in Milwaukee.

According to a release issued by the Sheriff’s Department, Tranberg-Miller has a history of criminal behavior, including prior arrests for disorderly conduct and bomb scares. He also has a conviction for second degree sexual assault of a child.

The sheriff’s office is seeking Class I Felony charges of a bomb scare, which carry up to three years in prison.
