RHINELANDER, Wis. (AP) — A jury has convicted a retired Rhinelander police officer of beating and sexually assaulting a woman.

Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen says 62-year-old Greg DeRosier was convicted Thursday of third-degree sexual assault, battery, felony intimidation of a witness, two counts of felony bail jumping, and threatening a witness.

The Daily News reports DeRosier was acquitted on a second charge of sexual assault and two counts of intimidation of a victim.

The jury deliberated for about 15 hours over two days.

The woman told investigators DeRosier was at her house Oct. 3, 2010, became angry and beat her.

She said DeRosier then ordered her to the bedroom where he sexually assaulted her.

After the verdict, DeRosier’s bond was increased to $25,000 cash. Sentencing is set for Jan. 25.
