FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) – A judge has set bond at $1 million cash for a Fond du Lac man accused of fatally shooting his wife.

Jason Anderson appeared in Fond du Lac County Circuit Court Thursday on a charge of first-degree intentional homicide. The 35-year-old defendant was returned to Wisconsin from Alabama where he was arrested a day after the body of 33-year-old Nicole Anderson was found with a single gunshot wound to the head at their house in Fond du Lac. Detectives say use of an automated teller machine tipped authorities on Anderson’s whereabouts.

WFDL radio reports Judge Peter Grimm set a Jan. 6 preliminary hearing. A criminal complaint does not include a possible motive for the shooting.
