JANESVILLE, Wis. (AP) – A Beloit man convicted of killing one man and seriously wounding another in a shooting two years ago has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of early release.

Antonio Mance was convicted in July of the shooting death of Derrick Kimber and wounding of Martell Rodgers. Rock County Circuit Court Judge James Daley also sentenced Mance to 40 consecutive years in prison and 20 years of extended supervision Monday on the attempted homicide charge.

The Beloit Daily News reported the 29-year-old Mance continued to maintain his innocence. According to court documents, he stood in the middle of the street on Nov. 24, 2009, armed with two guns and fired into the windshield of a car before moving to its driver’s side door and shooting additional rounds. Kimber was killed, but Rodgers survived.
