LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) — A jury has acquitted a former La Crosse County sheriff’s deputy accused in a crash that killed a teenage boy last year.
The La Crosse Tribune reports there were gasps in the courtroom when jurors found Trisha Stratman not guilty Thursday night. Stratman showed no emotion as the verdict was read.
Stratman was accused of homicide by negligent use of a vehicle in the crash that killed 16-year-old Holmen High School student Brandon Jennings in July of last year.
Stratman ran a red light while responding to an emergency call and slammed into the Onalaska teen’s car at 90 mph.
