Juveniles – delinquency — competency

Malcolm L. appeals from a dispositional order requiring him to register as a sex offender and from the order denying him postdisposition relief. He contends that the trial court failed to decide his motion to stay sex offender registration under Wis. Stat. § 938.34(16). The postdisposition court found that although the trial court failed to make a finding on the stay issue, the postdisposition court was not competent to decide it because the rest of the dispositional order had expired on his eighteenth birthday, before the postdisposition hearing. We disagree, and reverse. This opinion will not be published.

2011AP714 In the interest of Malcolm L.
