OKAUCHEE, Wis. (AP) — The Waukesha County district attorney will review a fatal shooting by a man who said he was defending himself against an intruder.
The Okauchee homeowner said he was asleep when he heard someone breaking into his house early Saturday. He said he grabbed his flashlight and a gun and confronted the man in the garage.
The homeowner said the intruder cornered him and threatened him with a gun before he shot and killed him. Oconomowoc police identify the man who died as 39-year-old James Babe of Waukesha.
WTMJ-TV says online court records show Babe has a lengthy criminal history that includes burglary.
