Mary Lynn Ferwerda, a 2011 graduate of Marquette University Law School, has joined Grzeca Law Group SC, Milwaukee, as an associate focusing on corporate immigration matters.

Jerome Grzeca, a 1988 graduate of Marquette University Law School, has been appointed to chair the American Immigration Lawyers Association membership committee for 2011-12. He is managing partner of Grzeca Law Group

Steven Sorenson and Thomas Moniz have joined Davis & Kuelthau SC, Milwaukee, in the firm’s Oshkosh office.

For more than 30 years, Sorenson has provided counsel on all business-related legal matters, including corporate law, business planning and estate planning. His real estate practice includes land use, zoning and smart growth. He received his law degree from Marquette University Law School.

Moniz, also a graduate of Marquette University Law School, helps his clients with general business and real estate transactions as well as estate planning. His experience includes corporate transactions, commercial real estate sales and acquisitions, in addition to leasing and landlord/tenant issues.

Dillon Ambrose

The firm also announced that Dillon Ambrose joined the firm as a litigation associate in its Milwaukee office.

A litigation attorney with eight years of experience as a Navy JAG officer, Ambrose was involved extensively in trial and appellate work. He earned his law degree from Marquette University Law School

Gonzalez Saggio & Harlan LLP, Milwaukee, the nation’s largest certified minority-owned law firm, has been named a 2011 recipient of the coveted Regional Supplier of the Year Award by the National Minority Supplier Development Council.

The award recognizes minority suppliers for growing their businesses in the face of significant obstacles, for consistently providing high quality products and services at competitive prices, and for making positive contributions to their communities. The award is given annually to 16 of the more than 16,000 NMSDC member organizations eligible to be nominated.

In the past five years, Gonzalez Saggio & Harlan has grown from 40 lawyers in five offices to a national law firm with 17 offices coast-to-coast and more than 130 attorneys.

The Regional Supplier of the Year awards will be presented to recipients at NMSDC’s 2011 conference, Nov. 2 in Atlanta. Four national award winners, one from each region, will also be announced.

Mendoza

Attorney Mario Mendoza has joined the law firm of Murphy Desmond SC, Madison, practicing in the areas of business law, municipal law and administrative/regulatory law and government relations.

Mendoza has experience in contracts and contract disputes, business organizations, collections, employment and litigation. Mendoza earned his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1996.

DiRenzo & Bomier LLC, Neenah, has opened a second office in Oshkosh. The new office, located at 420 S. Koeller St., Suite 308, in the Anchor Bank building off Highway 41, opened its doors to the public Aug. 1.

Attorney Todd Slagter, who focuses primarily on estate planning, probate matters and tax law, will be based at the Oshkosh location. Additionally, other DiRenzo & Bomier attorneys will offer their services at both locations as needed, further expanding the firm’s client base.

DiRenzo & Bomier is planning to host an open house from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Sept. 15. The general public is welcome and invited to stop by and learn more about the firm’s services, meet the legal team and take a tour of the new office. In addition, complimentary food, beer and wine will be available.

Megan Snyder has joined the Axley Brynelson LLP, Madison, business group. She is a recent Drake University Law School.

Snyder began her career at Axley Brynelson as a law clerk in May 2010 and became one of the 51 Axley Brynelson attorneys this past spring.
