BELOIT, Wis. (AP) — A suspect in a Beloit homicide is scheduled to appear in court this week.
A criminal complaint accuses 28-year-old Evans Wiggins of shooting Shawn Bell numerous times Aug. 1. Prosecutors have said a car theft may have motivated the fatal shooting. According to the complaint, the shooting occurred after the 25-year-old victim took off in Wiggins’ luxury car. It says Wiggins jumped in another vehicle and searched for Bell, eventually finding him.
Wiggins is charged with first-degree intentional homicide. He’s being held on $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday for the continuation of his initial appearance.
