MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Milwaukee prosecutors are reviewing accusations of illegal activity by groups supporting Republican Sen. Alberta Darling and her Democratic opponent state Rep. Sandy Pasch.

Assistant District Attorney Bruce Landgraf said Thursday his office is looking into block parties held by liberal group Wisconsin Jobs Now in which voters were taken to cast absentee ballots. His office also is investigating claims Wisconsin Right to Life offered gift cards to volunteers who signed up absentee voters in Darling’s district.

Wisconsin Right to Life and Wisconsin Jobs Now deny any wrongdoing.

Democrats, meanwhile, filed a complaint with state election officials alleging Darling committed misconduct in office by refusing to turn over communications with outside groups allied with Republicans. Darling’s office issued a statement saying the Democrats’ request is being processed.
