MILWAUKEE (AP) — A 71-year-old Milwaukee man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for fatally shooting his cousin over cigarettes.

Orteal Tyler will be on 10 years of extended supervision after completing his prison sentence.

Tyler pleaded guilty in May to first-degree reckless homicide in the death of 50-year-old Mark Anthony Chambers. He had been charged last December with first-degree intentional homicide.

According to the complaint, Tyler told police some missing cigarettes were the last straw in friction between him and Chambers. The two men shared a home. Believing Chambers took the cigarettes, Tyler grabbed a rifle, walked into the living room and shot his cousin multiple times

The Journal Sentinel reports the judge Tuesday also ordered restitution of about $8,500.
