MILWAUKEE (AP) — It’s been 20 years since police arrested Milwaukee’s most notorious serial killer.
The world found out on July 23, 1991, that Jeffery Dahmer had been arrested. The chocolate factory worker admitted to killing 16 young men and boys in Milwaukee and one in Ohio, some of whom he mutilated and cannibalized.
He was sentenced to life in prison but another inmate killed him in 1994.
Retired FBI profiler Neil Purtell worked on Dahmer’s case. He tells WISN-TV that very few killers disclose everything because holding something back is their power.
He said Dahmer spent time in Germany and Florida and he thinks it’s possible there might be more victims.
Dahmer’s lawyer, Gerald Boyle, said he believes Dahmer revealed all his secrets, noting his confession was 159 pages.
