KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) — An Illinois man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for driving three others to a home where a Kenosha man was killed.

Fifty-five-year-old Richard Beeter of Lake Villa was sentenced Friday for felony murder in connection with the 2009 death of 50-year-old Robin Leydel.

The man who shot Leydel and the man who planned the home invasion were already sentenced to life in prison.

A third man took a plea deal and is scheduled to be sentenced next week.

The Kenosha News reports Beeter cried and apologized to Leydel’s wife, Susan. He said if he knew someone would get hurt he wouldn’t have given the others a ride.

The judge also ordered five years community supervision and Beeter to pay his share of nearly $9,000 in restitution.
