MADISON, Wis. (AP) — An altercation involving a pro-union demonstrator resulted in an arrest and citations at the state Capitol.
State officials say two men draped a “Don’t Tread on Me” flag over the heads of some pro-union demonstrators participating in a sing-a-long in the Capitol rotunda Tuesday.
One of the singers grabbed the flag and was punched in the face by one of the two men. The Green Bay man throwing the punch was arrested on tentative charges of battery and disorderly conduct. He was booked into the Dane County Jail and later released.
The State Journal reports the other man and the singer were cited by Capitol police for disorderly conduct.
