GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin farmer has been sentenced to six years in federal prison for setting pipe bombs in charter boats in Kewaunee in 2009.

Forty-seven-year-old Joseph Sloma of Denmark pleaded guilty in March to one of the bombings. Sloma’s attorney and prosecutors agreed to the six-year sentence, followed by three years of supervised release

The explosions in June and September of 2009 destroyed four boats and damaged three others.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports some victims called for a longer sentence. But U.S. District Judge William Griesbach noted Sloma’s lack of a prior record, his guilty plea and willingness to pay restitution.

Sloma had told investigators he didn’t like the captains of the two boats that were bombed.

No one was hurt by either blast.
