MILWAUKEE (AP) — A Milwaukee man accused of killing his infant son allegedly hit the baby in the head with a video game controller and then threw him twice against a couch.

Twenty-five-year-old Francisco Marquez-Luna is charged with first-degree reckless homicide in the Memorial Day weekend death of his 10-month-old son, Derek Marquez.

According to the complaint, Marquez-Luna picked up his son Saturday evening, and the baby began crying when they reached the father’s home.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports the father told police he threw a video game controller at his son and hit him in the head. When the boy began crying, Marquez-Luna began shaking the baby and then threw him against a couch twice.

The baby died of blunt-force trauma to the head. The father remains in jail.
