MILWAUKEE (AP) — The lawyer for a former school superintendent in New Holstein says his client’s life has been “damaged” by his conviction of using a computer to facilitate a sex crime.
Attorney Richard Hart said 59-year-old Christopher Joseph Nelson got involved in something he never should have gotten involved in. He said Saturday that Nelson is working to fix things with his family and is seeking psychological treatment.
Nelson pleaded guilty to the charge Friday.
Nelson was the superintendent of New Holstein schools. He was arrested in January in an online sex sting after arranging for a rendezvous with a 15-year-old boy who was actually a Milwaukee police officer.
He faces a maximum prison sentence of 25 years when he is sentenced June 30.
