MILWAUKEE (AP) — Police in Wisconsin say a convicted kidnapper serving a life sentence in North Carolina has admitted involvement in the 1992 disappearance of a Wisconsin woman and that they’re searching for the missing woman’s remains.
Town of Menasha police chief Rod McCants said Monday that 48-year-old Larry DeWayne Hall has not been charged in the disappearance of Laurie Depies but has been a person of interest in the case for years.
Depies was 20 years old when she vanished outside her boyfriend’s apartment after getting off work.
McCants said Hall admitted involvement in Depies’ disappearance during an interview with investigators in November.
Hall was convicted of kidnapping 15-year-old Jessica Roach in Georgetown, Ill., in 1993. She was found slain in a cornfield across the state border in Indiana.
